The restoration and renovation of the Trinity Longwalk Dormitories is a project which has required the full range of Smith Edwards Architects’ preservation skill. The four very important historic structures will undergo exterior restoration, including masonry, windows, roofing, gutter systems and ornamentation. Likewise the interiors will be refurbished to include code compliance, interior egress, new bathroom facilities, restored finishes and new furnishings.

Smith Edwards Architects has also coordinated the mechanical improvements to the buildings, including a new heating system, upgrade of electrical service, extended fire alarm and sprinkler protection, and telecommunications system. Included in the previous category is the conceptualization and implementation within the dormitories of an extended campus-wide computer networking system.

The historic Longwalk buildings are the very heart of the Trinity College campus. Smith Edwards Architects is fortunate to have been selected to ensure the future of these important structures.
