For more than 100 years The Gray Lodge Shelter for Women, located in the historic Calvin Day House on Spring Street in Hartford, CT, has provided services for adolescent girls and young women. Together, the Shelter for Women and Smith Edwards Architects came up with a plan to improve the buildings livability and functionality by adding approximately 4,300 square feet of updated and modernized kitchen and classroom spaces as well as restored living spaces and code conforming common areas.
